Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, or at least 5 years of law enforcement or related experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Successful completion of the Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training Program for Police Officers preferred.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Reports to: Coordinator of Safety & Security
Performance Responsibilities:
Implements a comprehensive security/school safety program
Responds to routine safety requests, inquiries, complaints, alarms, and emergency messages, identifying and recognizing criminal acts
Monitors and evaluates site safety drills; making recommendations for improvement to principals
Assists in the development and implementation of security plans for special events involving any facilities under the jurisdiction of Piedmont Public Schools
Assists in providing training and assistance to site-based administrators and other employees in matters of safety and security
Prepares and submits written reports regarding violence, drug activity, smoking/vapes, criminal activity on school property, etc,, to site and district administrators in a timely manner
Works with site-based administrators on issues related to safety and traffic on school campuses
Works with local, state, and national agencies as resources to gain information relative to school safety
Works with committees designed to optimize school safety; works with the community on safety initiatives
May be required to carry a personal firearm and/or other weapons
Performs other duties, as assigned.

2, individuals employed in this position are hereby authorized by the Piedmont Board of Education to carry firearms.
Terms of Employment: Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved compensation schedule and employee work calendars
Evaluation: Evaluation by Coordinator of Safety & Security in accordance with BOE policy DNAA Evaluation of Administrative Personnel
Physical Demands:
Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, and push, pull, lift heavy objects.
Ability to operate motorized equipment.
Ability to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
