Student Accessibility and Support Assistant provides support and assistance to students and staff in Student Accessibility and Support, especially to the Director.
Reports To Director of Student Accessibility and Support What position(s) reports to this position? Student Employees as needed Minimum Education/Experience High School Diploma/GED Minimum (2) years full time work experience in a clerical/support position.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of the use of electronic spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications.
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a very diverse and dynamic department as part of a community college setting.
Ability to work some flexible hours.
Exceptional human relations skills.
Exceptional time management skills.
Must be flexible in order to undertake a variety of miscellaneous duties.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound.
Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
VISUAL ACUITY: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
The majority of the time, the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
Preferred Qualifications Associate degree Required Training Annual Campus Security Authority (CSA) Training Other trainings as required by HR and the College Work Hours Generally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday with some occasional evenings and weekends.
