"3 Merry Widows" Sometimes the smallest objects are the most interesting.
These little aluminum canisters, measuring 1 5/8 inches in diameter and 5/8 inch deep fall in that category.
"3 Merry Widows" was a popular brand of prophylactic in the early 20th century, these aluminum containers probably dates to the 1920's.
Latex condoms didn't take over the market until the 1930's, so the three "widows" brand once contained inside would have been the older cement rubber variety.
