Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with various tasks related to litigation, business transactions, probate, and estate planning
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain electronic case files and document management systems
- Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate required for paralegals.
Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in conducting legal research and using online legal databases, Adobe Pro
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and proofreading
- Knowledge of document management systems and proficiency in data entry
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and court rules
