*SUMMARY* The Purchasing Manager is responsible for organizing and supervising purchasing functions at ATC.
The Purchasing Manager will lead a team of Purchasing and supply chain professionals to ensure purchase orders are issued and components are delivered on-time and to the required specifications in order to meet the plant production needs.
The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives in indirect sourcing categories; which includes MRO items, freight, capital expenditures, services and equipment, and other indirect categories of goods and services.
Specific responsibilities include development of strategies, identification of cost saving opportunities, facilitating and leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiation, and establishment and maintenance of supplier relationships.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
· Lead and direct a team of supply chain professionals · Manage daily activities of issuing purchase orders for material components to ensure the on-time flow of raw materials to maintain production.
· Manage sourcing projects for Indirect Purchasing.
Establish long-term agreements where feasible to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, price, and other terms.
· Drive improved strategies and processes to eliminate unmanaged spend.
Advise and enable departmental programs in their sourcing projects as appropriate.
· Manage Plant MRO activities and capital expenditures; maintain relationships with suppliers to establish savings targets and ensure compliance to them as well; manage usage rates · Source and manage inbound and outbound international and domestic transportation and freight including customs compliance and all things necessary in order to ensure our goods are transported effectively · Drive and develop cost savings opportunities · Develop and maintain processes, policies, and procedures.
Work to continually improve purchasing methods/processes.
· Special projects and/or other duties as assigned *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* * Experience with Purchasing and/or Supply Chain * Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Purchasing; or relevant related experience * Computer proficiency – Excel experience * Effective communication skills with all position levels * Demonstrated leadership capabilities * Team facilitation skills * Demonstrated success in interfacing with other disciplines * Knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and ERP systems, Master Production Scheduling * Knowledge of parts management, production planning and MRO activities * Knowledge of Inventory Control and financial asset allocation * Experience in Remanufacturing preferred * *Experience in automotive strongly preferred* *PHYSICAL DEMANDS *The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
