Job Summary:
The Management Trainee will act as manager to obtain knowledge of the Cardinal business process.
The main purpose of a Management Trainee is to plan and direct operations and improve productivity and efficiency.
The Management Trainee will get hands on experience in leadership and direction to the dispatch staff, company drivers, and Owner Operators.
They will assist in overseeing communication functions to effect economical utilization of vehicle facilities by performing the following duties personally and/or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Functions:
Sets schedules, routes and assigns drivers and vehicles.
Recruits, orients and monitors progression of new drivers.
Communicates with drivers and customers concerning deliveries and delivery times.
Completes data entry to update trip data in TMW system.
Collects and reviews all driver paperwork and ensures accuracy and completeness of that paperwork.
Other duties as necessary.
Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Three months to one year experience.
Should be able to reach, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
Should have the ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
